Planned Parenthood Sues to Block Idaho Heartbeat Law

Last month, Gov. Brad Little signed Senate Bill 1309 into law which will ban abortions after six weeks when a baby’s heartbeat can be detected. The Idaho bill was inspired by the Texas Heartbeat Bill which was the first in the nation to take effect and withstand legal challenges … saving thousands of Texas babies from abortion ever since.

Idaho now has a similar law which was set to be effective April 22, but Planned Parenthood filed suit with the Idaho Supreme Court to block the law.

At Stanton, we believe every life deserves protection from the moment of conception – and will continue to fight for that protection. We were asked by Idaho Family Policy Center to file an amicus brief with the Idaho Supreme Court in support of SB 1309.

We immediately reached out to the American Center for Law and Justice and our local attorney in Idaho – and yesterday our request to appear as Amici Curiae was filed.

Please pray the Court will accept our petition; they denied a petition filed by the Catholic Church last week.

Moreover, pray this life-saving law will be upheld as it will save hundreds of babies from abortion each year.
